Ford

The Ford community is in the southeastern corner of Oakville and is named for the Ford plant that is located in the industrial area by the Queen Elizabeth Way. Much of the growth of Oakville from a small rural town to a larger centre came as a result of the Ford plant locating in the town in the 1950s, followed by many other large enterprises.

This is a well established family neighbourhood of single family homes, primarily from the 1970s and tending to the higher price range for the town as a whole, but considerably more affordable than the neighbouring community of Morrison. The area is very desirable and is home to very fine schools and easy commuting access to Toronto.
